Four things you will not find elsewhere
-
The dark is a rule, not a filter
At night and underground your hero's sight shrinks to what its light can reach. The server sends your screen only what your hero can see, so no gamma setting will show you what waits in the black. Light is a resource: carry it, share it, fight for the beacons.
-
Your hero never logs out
When you leave, your character stays where it stood, under the orders you gave: guard, rest, trade, gather, camp or train. It lives on world time, earns, risks and remembers. Come back to a chronicle of what happened while you were away.
-
Every road is walked
No fast travel, no recall, no mounts. Distance matters, so places matter: the inn on the road, the camp you made before dusk, the town you can still reach before the bells.
-
Fights are won by decisions
Combat is slow and strategic, never a test of reflexes. Where you stand, whom you strike and when you commit an ability decide a fight, seen from a locked, top-down camera.
The night is the reason to bring friends
Darkness is the game's signature. Creatures that hunt by night, others that seek a flame and some that put it out; beacons that hold a safe circle; a road that was easy at noon and is not at midnight.
Alone you can still make it home. Together, with a torch-bearer, a shield and someone watching the dark, the night becomes the best part of the game.
Five peoples of Eremor
Every hero is made in the creator: a people, a look, the points you spend on what it is good at, and its first skills.
Humans
Settlers of every road and river, the most varied people of Eremor. Quick to learn any trade: they start with two more points.
Elves
Long-lived and light of foot, at home under old trees. Keen hands and minds on slighter frames.
Dwarves
Stocky folk of the deep halls and the mountain roads. Hard to hurt, harder to stop, slow to warm to strangers.
Halflings
Small, quick and cheerful, found wherever a hearth is warm. Nimble and well liked; not built for heavy blows.
Gnomes
Small tinkers and scholars with big heads and bigger ideas. Sharp of mind, slight of arm.
